Contacts Menu

A Contact in Elpidan represents a single Instagram user who has interacted with your account.

Contacts are created automatically when:

  • A user sends a message
  • A user comments on a post, reel, or live
  • A user replies to a story

The Contacts section allows you to view, filter, and manage all contacts collected from your Instagram conversations and automations.

Unlike the Inbox, which focuses on active conversations, the Contacts menu is designed for contact management, segmentation, and data export.

The Contacts page is divided into two main sections.

Advanced Filtering & Exporting Data (Section 1)

This section helps you narrow down your contact list using multiple criteria.

It includes:

Tag filters
Custom field filters
Combination of tags and fields
Filter logic options (Off / Any / All)

What are Tags and Fields in Elpidan
Before using the Condition Node, it is helpful to understand what tags and fields are.
Tags are simple labels used to group and segment users based on status, behavior, interests, or actions. Fields are used to store actual user data, such as name, email, phone number, score, or any other value you want to save for later use in your flows.
👉If you want to create and manage your tags, go to the Tags Menu.
👉If you want to review the available fields or create additional custom fields, go to the Custom Fields Menu

By combining filters, you can quickly reach specific groups of contacts, such as:

• Leads who completed a form
• Users who participated in a campaign
• High-value customers based on custom fields

Filters allow precise segmentation before exporting or taking further actions.

Example filters:

  • Has tag lead
  • Field city equals “Berlin”
  • Field email is not empty
  • Has tag contest_participant AND field score > 5

Filter Modes Explained

Each filter group in the Contacts menu has three modes that control how the selected conditions are applied.

These modes help you combine tags and custom fields more effectively.

Off

When a filter group is set to Off:

• The selected filters in that group are ignored
• The contact list behaves as if no filters were applied in that section

Example:
If you select multiple tags or custom field conditions but keep the mode set to Off, those filters will not affect the contact list.

Any

When a filter group is set to Any:

• A contact is included if at least one of the selected conditions is met

Example:
Tags set to Any with:

• Completed Form
• Campaign Participant

→ Contacts who have either of these tags will be displayed.

All

When a filter group is set to All:

• A contact is included only if all selected conditions are met at the same time

Example:
Custom Fields set to All with:

• contest_score > 10
• total_purchase_amount > 20

→ Only contacts who meet both conditions will be displayed.

Exporting contacts

At the top-right corner of the Contacts page, you’ll find the Export Contacts button.

Clicking this button allows you to:

• Export the currently filtered contact list
• Download contact data as an Excel file
• Use the exported file for reporting, CRM imports, or external analysis

Only contacts that match the active filters will be included in the exported file
