Update or Remove users Tags and Fields automatically by Action Node

This tutorial explains how the Action Node works in Elpidan and how it can update tags and fields automatically inside a flow. It is an important part of building flows that react to user behavior and keep contact data organized.

In this section, we’ll explore the Action Node and understand how it works.

What are Tags and Fields in Elpidan
Before using the Condition Node, it is helpful to understand what tags and fields are.
Tags are simple labels used to group and segment users based on status, behavior, interests, or actions. Fields are used to store actual user data, such as name, email, phone number, score, or any other value you want to save for later use in your flows.
👉If you want to create and manage your tags, go to the Tags Menu.
👉If you want to review the available fields or create additional custom fields, go to the Custom Fields Menu

Using the Action Node, you can assign or remove tags, and set or update user fields automatically during a flow.

Unlike the Instagram Node, which sends content to users, the Action Node works behind the scenes to manage user information.

Click on the Action Node to open its settings panel.

There are different available actions: Tag management & Custom Field management

Tag management.

Add Tag:

You can assign one or multiple tags to a user.
Tags are useful for segmenting your audience based on behavior, interests, or actions.

For example, if a user clicks on a button related to piano courses, you can automatically assign a tag like “Interested in piano.”

Remove Tag:

You can also remove tags.
For example, if a user completes your designed form and sends the required information (such as their name and email address), you might remove the tag “Prospect” and assign a new tag such as “Lead.”

Custom Field management.

You can set or update the value of a user field.

Let me give you a couple of examples:

You can set a field like “gender” to Male.

You can update a field like “contest_score” by adding, for example, 15 points to the user’s current score.

Or you can update a field like “follow_invite_count” by adding 1 to the current value each time you invite a user to follow your page within a flow.

It’s important to understand that the Action Node does not send any message to the user.
It only modifies user data in the background.

This makes it extremely powerful when combined with the Condition Node.

In the next article, we’ll explain the Condition Node in detail and show you how to use both nodes together effectively.
