Create First Simple Flow | Send Text Message

This Tutorial shows how to build your first simple automation flow in Elpidan using a text-only setup. It is designed to help you understand the basic structure of a flow before you start working with images, choices, or more advanced logic.

You learn how to create a basic flow from scratch inside the Elpidan Flow Builder.

Before creating any automation, you must connect an Instagram Business account to Elpidan.

Step 1: Create a New Flow

Go to Flows menu, Click Create New Flow to open the Flow Builder with a blank automation canvas, where you can design every aspect of your automation — from messages and actions to advanced conditions — tailored entirely to your business needs and objectives.

Give your flow a clear name

Step 2: Choose a Trigger

Click the Trigger node in the flow canvas to open its Properties panel

Click the Add Trigger and Select at least one Trigger Condition
Example: select "User sends a message"

Define the keyword that activates the flow
Example: The flow starts when a user sends the keyword "Guide"
From this Point on, when a user sends the keyword "Guide" in direct message, this flow will automatically run and send the message.

Step 3: Add an Instagram Message Node

1. Move your mouse over the handler of the Trigger node
2. Slightly move the mouse until the cursor changes to a hand icon (👆)

3. Click to open the node picker

4. Select the "Instagram node", then click the Instagram Node in the flow canvas to open its Properties panel

5. Click the "+Add an Instagram block" and Select "Message" Block

Write a simple reply message

Example: “Thanks for messaging us! How can we help you?”

Step 4: Publish the Flow

Click Publish

Once published, your flow changes from Draft to Published and becomes active.

From this point on, when a user sends the keyword Guide, this flow will automatically run and send the message.

This simple flow introduces you to:

  • Triggers
  • Nodes
  • Publishing logic
In the next video, we’ll enhance this flow by adding images and user choices to make it more interactive.
